I'm on! Let the journey begin should we?!! Heading to Sacramento, CA for a few days to see the family. A hard good bye San Francisco even though I know I'll be visiting soon but don't know when. As I was crossing the Bay Bridge, tears were all over my face. I was crying like a baby. It was a sad and joyful moment at the same time. The joy part is I'm doing something for myself. The sad part I don't know where I'm going even though I planned out. I marching into the unknown.
The first day of driving, I decided to take it slow. Taking Highway 80 from Sacramento to Nevada and stop whenever I'm tired. Of course, I was crying again. Fear and leaving my past behind. And thank goodness my journey started with beautiful Sierra mountains and my emotion got distracted. That's a good start.
First rest area, the air was beautiful and fresh. I stopped and let Calvin do a small hike.
Continue on Highway 80 for another 3 hours; I saw a little town called Winnemucca, NV. Giving it's my first day, and the next town will be too long a drive. I stayed at Winnemucca and called it a night. A cute little town, it has a big park that allowed dogs up in the hills. I took Calvin there for the evening break.
Ended today with a good note. A beautiful valley surrounded by mountains.
